Fortunately, for most of us being in an Auto Accident is a rare occurrence. For those of you who have been in an accident, you know and understand the stress that comes from dealing with all the problems from the wreck. Fighting with the insurance company is never fun. The hassle of having your car repaired. I haven't even mentioned having to deal with any injuries that you may have.
To make matters worse, many times accident related injuries may not show up for days even weeks afterwards. This allows the injury to remain untreated and unfortunately become worse and more difficult to resolve. It is extremely important that immediately following an accident you speak with a Doctor who is specifically trained to evaluate and treat Accident Related Injuries. Through the years I have been extremely fortunate to meet and help many wonderful people just like you. There is nothing more satisfying and rewarding than truly making a difference in someone's life.
I can honestly say I love what I do!
Here are some common mistakes an injured person makes following an accident:
- Immediately returning to work or daily activities. If you were in a moderate to severe accident the supporting structures in your neck and upper back are more than likely injured. At the moment of impact your body absorbed a tremendous amount of force. This force will cause micro-trauma to the muscles, ligaments, tendons and joints in the spine. This can lead to inflammation and bruising which may or may not be noticed. Often times there is more injury to the deep tissues and there is no visible signs of injury. If you do not let these injuries heal properly eventually this will lead to a chronic pain that you will have deal with for many years.
- Settling with the insurance company before speaking with someone trained in the evaluation and treatment of Accident Injuries. What if your car accident has led to an injury that is lying dormant and doesn't become noticeable until you "tweak" it somehow? If you have settled with the insurance company, you have lost your right for the proper treatment for your injuries. Why do you think the insurance company wants to settle with you so soon after the accident?
Car Accident Injury Questions & Answers
Q. Do I have to pay for treatment upfront?
A. No, there are several options available to make sure you get the treatment you need to recover. If you have MedPay available on your auto insurance we will file it for you. MedPay is just like health insurance and by law your rates will NOT be raised if you use it. If you do not have MedPay available all we need is a letter of representation from your attorney.
Q. Should I contact an attorney before I see a Doctor?
A. No, if you are injured you must see a Doctor trained in Accident Injuries first. Your health and well being should be priority number one. If you need assistance with finding a reputable attorney we can help if you would like.
Q. My attorney wants me to see his/her Doctor, do I have to go?
A. No, your attorney works for YOU. You are in charge. Hire the right people for the right job. Your attorney should work on the legal issues, that's their job. Your auto body shop should fix your car, that's their job. Let me help you recover from you injuries from the accident, that's what I do...that's my job.
Q. I'm getting calls after the accident, they're saying I need to go to their clinic, is that true?
A. No, it is extremely unprofessional and unethical to contact accident victims over the phone. No matter how convincing they may be, do not go to their clinic. And please don't judge every Accident Clinic based upon this one unethical clinic. Whether it is these telemarketers or an attorney trying to send you to "their" clinic, Don't get Hurt Twice, Choose your own Doctor.
